The 1998 Le Mans 24 Hours marked a triumphant return to the top step for Porsche, securing its record 16th overall victory with the iconic Porsche 911 GT1-98. Piloted by the formidable trio of Allan McNish, Laurent Aïello, and Stéphane Ortelli, the car combined endurance, speed, and reliability to outpace the competition and survive the grueling demands of Circuit de la Sarthe. Clad in its striking white-and-blue Mobil 1 livery, the GT1-98 was a technological masterpiece and a fitting send-off to the GT1 era. This victory not only cemented Porsche’s dominance at Le Mans but also celebrated the perfect synergy between man and machine on motorsport’s greatest stage.
